Why-Do-I-Love-Thee.jpg

WHY DO I LOVE THEE?

Thou askest why I love thee,
And I will tell thee why.
It is not for thy ruby lip,
Nor for thy hazel eye;
It is not for the graceful form,
Nor for thine auburn hair;
It is not for thy smiling face,
Though it be passing fair.

No, ‘tis not for thy beauty,
Though to it I’m not blind;
Nor for the goodness of thy heart,
Nor for thy gentle mind.
It is not for thy rosy cheek,
Nor for thy snowy skin;
It is not these I love thee for;
I love thee for thy-Tin!
